摘要

In this study an Overtake Mishap preventive road safety system is designed. The System makes driver aware about the platoon of which its vehicle is a part. The system helps driver to know the overtaking behavior of back vehicle. The system with the help of front vehicle's response also guides driver when it decides to overtake it. The Road-Side-Devices help to maintain the communication amongst vehicles in its coverage area. Every vehicle receives and broadcasts the required information through In-Vehicle-Module when it is traveling through coverage of Road-Side-Device. The information shared by every vehicle is received by In-Vehicle-Module of other vehicles via Road-Side-Device and on the basis of that each In-Vehicle-Module operates Decision algorithm to decide front and back vehicle in reference to itself. The decision algorithm also helps controller to confirm the notification which is to be send so as to guide back vehicle at the time of overtaking. Similarly driver also gets properly compiled user friendly information on the basis of front vehicle's transferred data which helps to control the vehicle speed according to the platoon.
