Indoor exposure at 2 m from an antenna emitting in the (30-110) MHz band was provided to a group of seven human volunteers with the aim of analyzing a hypothetical occupational safety situation. Unperturbed field strength components maps over the incident area of the body and corresponding induced foot-current measurements showed that the field magnitude alone is not a valuable reference to establish hazards caused by the thermal effects of exposure in the lower legs. It is emphasized that a proper approach should focus rather on a vectorial description of the field and on the relations between frequency and geometry of the exposure situation.
