Smart Wearables in the technology industry has become a desirable innovation especially when it comes to healthcare. People suffer from an ankle sprain each day and this injury accounts for almost half of all sports injuries, making the ankle sprain one of the most common soft-tissue injuries in humans. This paper illustrates the design of a smart adaptive boot that uses Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) technology integrate with the help of a user-friendly mobile device application. The design of the interface is proposed to be a printed circuit board (PCB) of a relatively small size that attaches to the boot. This PCB will be connected to the sensors through wires and will connect to the smart devices wirelessly. User defined comfort and range of motion is of paramount importance for this smart adaptive boot.
