The risk assessment method and management strategy of distribution network cable in Macau

摘要

The real growth rate of the gross domestic product has exceeded 50% for Macau since 2010. Economic boom attracts lot of entrepreneur to invest in Macau. However, the total land area of Macau is only 30.4 km2 but the population has exceeded 646 thousands. High density population and narrow street mean the density of distribution cable is very high in Macau. Hence, ensuring the high stability and reliability of distribution cable is the key factor for ensuring the reliability of Macau distribution network. For achieving the evaluation of cable condition accurately and replacing high risk cables in time, Companhia de Electricidade de Macau (CEM) has established a management strategy which is based on ISO 55000 system for optimizing the cable risk assessment method and the process of asset management since 2012. This strategy can consider different cable test results and convert them to health index in order to make test results easier to understand. The coping mechanism in the strategy can also instruct the electrical technicians the coping method for different test results. Combining these elements, a healthy cable management system can be established. This paper will introduce the cable risk assessment method and also the management strategy.
