摘要

In this paper, PFC feature is given as an individual module which will get plugged easily between the Rectifier & Inverter section of any Industrial or Home Inverter or any Switched Mode Power Supply (SMPS) system. The design of PFC Module is carried as pluggable and will have an objective to ensure any power system installed with this PFC Module should meet the energy norms of Power Factor (PF) value which is defined by the Ministry of Power. In addition, this PFC Module is designed using Variable Boost Inductor which improves the efficiency and overall performance of the power system in a cost effective way. The power quality parameters, primarily Power Factor & Power System Efficiency values are predefined while designing the PFC Module and the same is tested for different types of loads (Resistive, Inductive & Capacitive).
