The cost of energy is of great concern to many Jamaicans from all strata of society, because it impacts almost all aspects of life. The price of all processed goods is susceptible to fluctuations in energy costs. Therefore more and more ordinary people are trying to exert some control over their energy usage and costs. This paper explores the application of renewable energy to a private residence. The main aim is to reduce electrical energy costs and also possibly earn income by generating excess power.
