EMI Reduction Method for Wireless Charging Mobile Devices Application using Planar Resonance Reactive Shield

Nowadays, WPT (Wireless Power Transfer) technologies have been spotlighted due to the battery problems of mobile devices such as heavy weight and inconvenience of charging method. However, the magnetic fields are generated during the mobile devices are charged wirelessly and these magnetic fields have high chance to cause the malfunction of other electronic devices. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the EMI suppression method by using planar resonance reactive shield. The proposed shield employs closed loop which is located peripherals of WPT coil and resonance matching capacitor. The proposed shield dramatically reduces the EMI without sacrificing much on additional space and power transfer efficiency.
