Consuming less energy to evenly distribute the traffic load defines a major task for efficient routing protocols in Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANets). Indeed, this process can avoid congestion, increases the network lifetime and maintains consequently green communications. In order to evaluate this capability, we introduce in this paper a new performance metric “Energy Efficiency of Load Balancing metric” and we investigate the effect of mobility on the basis of energy efficiency and load balancing using quality of service (QoS) metrics. Also, we show simulation results of some well-known routing protocols in various mobility scenarios.
