摘要

This paper reports real-time Available Transfer Capability (ATC) assessment of multi-area power systems in a distributed computational framework. Calculation of ATC is formulated as a non-linear optimal power flow problem which is solved by Optimality Conditions Decomposition (OCD) techniques. This coordination and decomposition methodology is implemented in a distributed computing environment which permits real-time ATC assessment for practical large-scale power grids. Robustness and reaction of the distributed methodology subjected to small and large system disturbances are evaluated by several numerical experiments of IEEE-118 test system. Simulation result indicate that the proposed framework is a promising tool towards the development of Distributed Energy Management Systems (DEMS) for real-time power grid monitoring and control.
