Winds and currents mission: Ability to observe mesoscale AIR/SEA coupling

The motivation for a satellite mission to measure surface winds (stress) and surface currents is described. The mission concept is explained, and a successful example is shown based on simulated satellite sampling of the output a high-resolution ocean model with and without anticipated measurement noise.
