The converse beam cross sliding spotlight SAR (CBC sliding spotlight SAR) imaging processing was investigation in this essay. The geometry and properties of classical standard and inverse sliding spotlight SAR were reviewed and the CBC sliding spotlight SAR operation mode was concerned with unified sliding factor, both classical sliding spotlight SAR and CBC sliding spotlight SAR can be realized by choosing a proper sliding factor. Imaging processing of CBC sliding spotlight SAR was investigated using a data blocking based fast back projection algorithm and the point spread functions were gained. All results proved that CBC sliding spotlight SAR can obtain images with azimuth resolution higher than strip map SAR, and azimuth scene extension larger than pure spotlight SAR. It will play an important role in future SAR remote sensing.
