Recently, differential-signaling techniques such as low-voltage differential-signaling (LVDS) have been widely used in digital electronics devices in order to suppress electromagnetic interference. Practical differential-paired lines generate mode-conversion from differential-mode (DM) to common-mode (CM), and hence, an imbalance component is excited. To provide the basic considerations and establish the method for suppressing the imbalance components and EM radiation from practical differential-paired lines, this paper attempts to identify and quantify the imbalance components and EM radiation from asymmetrical differentia-paired lines with different termination condition. The proposed model can identify and explain the dominant radiation factor with different termination condition.
