VALUE ANALYSIS OF BLOOD SUGAR LEVEL METERS APPLIED IN DIABETES

The number of people suffering from diabetes is growing every day. WHO estimated the number of diabetics to be 171 million in 2000, but this number is expected to rise to 366 million by the year 2030. The estimated number of Hungarian diabetics is one million, out of which approximately 600000 are registered - the others do not go to doctors. This number means that approximately one person out of ten suffers from diabetes in Hungary. The fact is that diabetes is usually an illness among the elderly and the middle-aged;however, in rare circumstances, it may also appear among young children. These days, insulin treatment is undoubtedly simpler with the new human insulin products, an example of which is the "pen" with its ball-point-like dosing system. Human metabolism can be continuously monitored with self-controlling blood sugar content, enabling us to provide optimal balance. This is the most important assurance against so-called "later complications," or at least an assurance to mitigate and stabilize said complications.
