One of the most versatile filtration media, yet least known of the nonwoven fabrics in filtration is the well-established Air-Through Bonded technology. By way of background, Air-Through Bonded technology has a large number of special attributes, using either sheath/core or binder fibers. Fabrics are available from 20 to 160 gsm, can be produced with a firmly bonded smooth surface on one side in addition to a lofty surface on the other for maximum dirt/dust holding. The technology offers a choice of fusible fibers from 2 to 13 denier (from virtually any common fiber; PP, PE, PET and PA) with a more even fiber distribution than many of the incumbents.
