A major problem faced by water infrastructure across the country is the lack of effective tools for managing and maintaining these aging assets. Significant benefits can be achieved through the implementation of geographic information system (GIS) to understand spatial relationships between the affecting parameters. This research aims at understanding and visualizing data in GIS related to drinking water pipelines. Focused on collecting spatial data from external data sources using informational knowledge for better deployment on visualization. Integrated with different parameters through spatial data layers, buffering, and utilizing various tools and applications for better interrelationships in GIS web-based visualization techniques for decision support. The research team is engaged in the data collection process and currently aiming to engage 500 water utilities and federal facilities participation. Involving a preliminary analysis of the standardized utility data and customizing GIS applications for visualization based on user interaction. The objective is for granting differential user accessibility in visualization as per different water utilities via national pipeline infrastructure database platform called PIPEiD.
