摘要

In this paper we have briefly described a recently developed algorithm to convert return signal from a single wavelength lidar system to PM concentration. Further details and verification will be made available in a journal article soon to be submitted. We demonstrated the capability of the algorithm by applying it to CELiS data collected in a controlled experiment. While PM calibration algorithms have been developed and published for multi-wavelength lidar systems, this is the first PM calibration algorithm for single wavelength lidar. This method may be applied to a wide variety of elastic backscatter lidar systems given sufficient characterization of the observed particles. This enables lidar systems to monitor PM concentrations across a large area/volume not otherwise possible with point sensors.
