The JSME Codes and Standards Committee have a plan to make a guideline for excessive cyclic loading after Fukushima accident. The special task group of the JSME C&S Committee conducted two kinds of benchmark analyses for simulating the test results of an elbow model under cyclic loading and a pipe system model under seismic loading. The authors participated in the analysis group using an elbow model. The Chaboche model was used for a constitutive law and three displacement levels were applied to the model separately. The crack was estimated to initiate at the flank of the center cross section of the elbow. The estimated cyclic number for fatigue crack initiation by Manson's universal slope method conservatively agreed with the experimental result.
