Performance Improvement and Training Benefits of High Fidelity Simulator Training

The Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant training department has implemented unique simulator training solutions to improve site wide performance and training effectiveness addressing station specific risks in the post-Fukushima environment. Solutions include adding hardware, software, and graphics capabilities to model design basis and beyond design basis events, external flooding, internal flooding, and equipment needed to respond. Monticello used these improvements to focus on station needs as well as assist the industry.
