The stable connection of wired communication technology led to higher demand to achieve greater bandwidth compared to wireless technology. In additional to fibre, the broadband services are available to users via copper cable which is run on top of xDSL technology. One existing technology that has been used worldwide and can promise to provide higher bandwidth is VDSL2. Further developments are needed to develop a good channel model to represent the copper cable behavior and estimation of VDSL2 technology achievable bit rate. This paper introduces channel model that is able to forecast attenuation and achievable bit rate based on the loop length for both upstream and downstream. The model was developed based on TNO model for attenuation and newly stochastic model for crosstalk. A stochastic model of crosstalk transfer function was used as new approach in order to achieve better agreement to the channel model measured data. The results show the developed channel model confirm gives the accuracy for predicting VDSL2 achievable bit rate and attenuation for multiple loop length with shows that the results being correlated.
