A comparative analysis to evaluate transient performance of 3-different band-notch techniques used in ultra-wideband antennas is presented. To reject the pre-existing WLAN (5.8 GHz) band, a split ring resonator (SRR) has been used to the reference UWB antenna in the first design, whereas parasitic coupling is used in other two designs. The present study explores important time-domain behavior of band-notched UWB antennas for successful application in impulse-radio communications.
