In In this presentation, a source reconstruction on a surface close to the antenna of interest is proposed to obtain the set of equivalent currents representing the forward and backward radiation fields of an antenna whose near field pattern has been measured. Once these equivalent sources are determined, the electromagnetic fields at any aspect angle and distance from the antenna can be calculated. The electric field patterns of a DCS base station antenna at 1800 MHz has been calculated and plotted for several distances from the antenna. Hence, through this procedure, it is possible to delineate the ???safety volumes??? or exclusion zones regarding maximum levels of electromagnetic radiation for human exposure for any radiating antennas in a given deployment.
