Analysis of the Impact of Phase Variation on the Behavior of Wavelength Selective Switches

This paper gives an insight into the phase and amplitude response of wavelength selective switches, employed to compensate group delay or chromatic dispersion. A mathematical model is given, explaining the experimental results and taking into account the phase variation of the aperture filter.
