In the present article, we designed a scheme for real-time voltage stability monitoring, oriented to distribution networks. The calculation method is based on synchrophasor measurements, which can analyze the operating state of a distribution network without operational data submitted by the high voltage network. For this purpose, this scheme is based on two methods, the first one allows to reflect the operating state of the high voltage network to the point of supply of the distribution zone, using phasor measurements; and the second uses the results obtained by the first method, for the processing provided by a WAMS network, that calculates the Index of Stability of Voltage by Power-Flow methods. As a case study of voltage instability on a distribution network, we chose an event occurred at 15:19 h on May 2, 2014 in Piura Oeste substation, located on the north area of Peru; in which it is evident that if the distributor had had the proposed scheme would have minimized the damage of the event.
