The model of the blunted cone based on the real scale is presented in this paper. Based on the EM model of the plasma sheath obtained from the results of the hypersonic flow over blunted cone, the propagation characteristics of EM waves interacting with the plasma sheath are calculated by using both the PMM method and the FDTD method. The results show that the propagation characteristics present positive correlation with the incident angle and the reentry height while present negative correlation with the reentry speed simultaneity.
