Toward Newly Creative Smart Communities Launched by Asian Activities

Application fields of electromagnetic waves are breaking enormously. Actually, the research and development are now promoting based on the research progress. Such electromagnetic waves are not only employed to the communication and sensing systems but will be applied to wide variety of fields such as energy, chemistry, medical, logistics, finance, welfare, security, digital signal processing, and so forth. To investigate such research activities, an investigative committee termed "Innovative Electromagnetic Technologies and Their Applied Developments" was organized from June 2011 in the technical Society of Electronics, Information, and System in the Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan (IEEJ). The workshops by this committee were planed so as to be held in Asian areas as an international meeting to promote the Asian activities.
