The fluid characteristics and mixing phenomenons in the bath of C-H_2 smelting reduction furnace were studied by physical simulation in this paper. The fluid characteristic depends on the mixing time in the bath in this research. A 1:1 water model of a C-H_2 smelting reduction furnace was constructed based on the Froude number similarity criteria to reveal the relationship between water model and phototype. The mixing time of fluid in the bath was measured by electrolytic conductance meter in different operation conditions. Experiments optimize the factors of the upper/lower-side nozzle horizontal angle, radial angle, inserting depth, flow rate and the included angle between the upper-side nozzle and the lower-side nozzle and obtain the optimal conditions.
