Microstructure of semisolid slurry of Al-4.5wt.%Cu alloy was investigated with pulse magneto-oscillation (PMO) treatment, the results showed that the PMO treatment can refine the crystal structures of Al-4.5wt.%Cu alloy significantly. The discharging frequency of PMO had a great effect on the solidified structure transformation of semisolid slurry of Al-4.5wt.%Cu alloy, and the primary α-Al particles become much finer and rounder with an increase of discharging frequency. However, over a certain discharging frequency, the grains of primary α-Al become coarse.
