In this paper, jet grouting technology is briefly introduced at first and then the recent development of jet-grouting methods in Shanghai for the infrastructure construction is presented. Recent research activities include theoretical modeling of the diameter of jet grouted column and a case history of practice of Rodin Jet Pile (RJP) method. A generalized approach for predicting the diameter of jet grouted column is introduced, and used to analyze the measured diameters of RJP jet grouted columns. It was shown that jet grouted columns formed by the RJP method are larger than that using the conventional triple fluid system by about 36% on average.
