This chapter presents an energy coordination control strategy in a particular microgrid based on multi-agent system under the island mode. Each DER Agent and load Agent can have specific characteristics and mechanisms; agents make local decision and interact with each other according to their objectives and states. System global objective can be achieved in noncooperative environment by coordinating agents with different objectives effectively. By employing a distributed architecture, single point failure can be avoided, which improves the reliability of the system. The coordination control strategy allows system to have good openness and robustness.
