Crank shaped slot is a well known compact slot that can be settled on a narrow wall of a waveguide. However, it is difficult to match the slots to a feed waveguide without matching circuit because the crank shaped slot has a large resonant conductance. In this paper, Z shaped slot partially overlapping the waveguide wall to achieve smaller conductance is proposed. In the proposed slot, the resonant conductance can be reduced because the electric field at the slot becomes smaller by overlapping the end part of slot and waveguide wall. Moreover, the resonant conductance of the slot also can be reduced because the electric field at the middle part of the slot is partially canceled by Z shape. The feasibility of proposed antenna is shown through numerical simulation and experiments.
