Ozonized Water for Mouth Cleansing System in Dentistry

Ozone gas can be dissolved into water or used in the gas phase for a variety of applications. The use of ozonized water in dentistry is gaining its place in everyday dental practice. Ozone has a high oxidation potential and is 1.5 times greater than chlorine when used as an antimicrobial agent against bacteria, viruses, fungi, and protozoa. In this project, the ozonized water-based system for mouth cleansing was introduced to be able to effectively kill Bacteria, Fungi, Viruses and Parasites as well as to provide a comfortable condition to use by the patients before and after they get a treatment in a dentistry sector. The result of the study showed that the ozone-based mouth cleansing system with ORP value above 700 mV effectively killed the bacteria contained in the mouths of the patients.
