DEVELOPMENT OF WATER FOOTPRINT INVENTORY DATABASE OF CHINA

The scarcity of the ubiquitous water resources has been a matter of concern all over theworld. in the developing countries, this is caused by the sudden population growth and theimprovement of quality of life. Additionally, disease and malnutrition are widespread due tothe inadequate agricultural production on account of water shortage. Water Footprint (WF) isan evaluation method measuring environmental impacts related with water use through theentire life cycle of products and service. China’s economy has developed rapidly, but seriouswater problems have emerged because of the increases in water demands and generationof wastewater. It is apprehended that water problem may restrict the sustainable growth inChina.
