The study was carried out for change of aquatic ecosystem due to the rain-fed paddyfi eld of Rural Water Development Project. Study area is the Galshinarea, Yesan-gun,Chungcheongnam-do, Republic of Korea. Rural Water Development Project of Galshinareahad been completed in 2006. Water resource of the Galshinarea is Yedang reservoir.Before Rural Water supply started from the Galshin pumping station in March, irrigation waterused to be lifted using a small pump from streams or the small tubular well. Around June, theGalshinarea’s stream would deplete substantially.Before water supply from the Galshin pumping station, the level of depleted stream at theGalshin water level station iused to be lower than EL. 47.5 m. Average annual days of depletedstream had been 97 days; and average days of depleted stream from April to June had been47 days..
