Residential and business construction sites often have excessive erosion (1) and compaction after topsoil removal, scraping, and mass grading. The compaction results in poor growth of lawns (2), shrubs, and trees. Also, reduced infiltration increases runoff of nutrients and pesticides and soil erosion contributing to stormwater pollution.
