This paper presents a bi-directional high voltage gain converter for applications in a small dc distribution network supplied by PV arrays and a battery bank as storage unit, as part of a micro-grid with dc and ac distribution buses. The system consists of a set of photovoltaic panels with a total power of 2 kWp, a 48V battery bank, a 311 V_(DC) bus and a 2 kW bidirectional buck-boost converter responsible for loading the battery bank and maintaining the stability of the bus voltage 311V.
