In this analysis, we present techniques to aid the user, especially those unfamiliar with the full earth science sensor web, in discovering sensors capable of collecting and delivering data relevant to a remote sensing challenge. Given missions and instruments databases, techniques for extracting and visualizing sensors appropriate to a given science question are presented. The Hurricane and Severe Storm Sentinel program is used as an example for applying the techniques to discover complementary sensors.
