摘要

The nanomechanical properties of commercially pure zirconium treated by means of surface mechanical attrition treatment(SMAT)with different processing durations were investigated through nanoindentation test. The experimental results indicate that the hardness improved with increasing the processing duration. It can achieve about 3.6 GPa in the top surface of the sample processed with 45 minutes. And the hardness value gradually decreases to about 2.2 GPa in the matrix. It is also shown that the elastic modulus is nearly unchanged with the processing duration and depth from the treated surface.
