The results show that the average concentration for acrylonitrile in ambient air for the 4 sample sites is less than 10 ppt. If 1 high excursion is removed from each site the results tend toward 5 ppt for Sacramento, Chico, and Pico Rivera, and 4 ppt for San Pablo. Sacramento's 76 ppt value corresponded to a rangeland and timber fire which emitted heavy smoke into the air.
