The new humidity-controlled 2B 211 and TAPI 265E O_3 monitors appear virtually free of interferent bias compared to conventional FEM photometers. Field quality assurance audit and calibration protocols for conventional photometer compliance networks should be amended to include O_3 standard addition tests to ambient air to better assess local interference issues. Agency APEX O_3 exposure, risk, and regulatory benefit assessment ME factors and indoor penetration-deposition models should be corrected to account for the positive conventional photometer measurement bias that leads to overestimates of O_3 risk.
