Advanced Operations Overview for Managers Training Program

The objective of the AOOM training program, namely to provide candidates with the technical understanding required to support their leadership role, and including knowledge of science fundamentals, plant systems, safety analysis, safe operating envelope, operations processes, policies and procedures, could be accomplished via a 20 week training program supported by a classroom simulator. The program has proven to be an acceptable alternative to provide technical managers with the requisite knowledge and skills previously acquired via shift manager training and executing the position duties, except where licencing or other considerations mandate the incumbent to having been a shift manager at the designated nuclear unit.
