摘要

The analysis and characterization of small lignocellulosic particles are known to be problematic. New methods to quantify the size, shape and structural properties of cellulose micro particles and wood powders are needed. In this paper, we present a measurement scheme based on the flow cytometry analysis of micro particles that can, after sample fractionation, analyse cellulose and wood micro particles for their relative size, degree of fibrillation and aspect ratio. Laser diffraction-based particle size analysis is used as a reference method and the studied samples are visualised using an electron microscope.
