The paper proposed an approach to surface reconstruction of bilateral skull defect prosthesis based on radial basis function. First, patient' CT image data were processed for three-dimensional surface model of his skull. Second, K dimension tree was utilized to determine the information about boundary points of the defect area. Finally, interpolation surface expressed by radial basis function was availed to fill the area of defect, thus getting the mathematical model of the defect area. The results showed that this approach could improve the accuracy of prosthesis and supply a new preparation method for clinical application.
