In this paper, interference management scheme by component carrier selection for carrier aggregation system in Heterogeneous Networks is proposed. The scheme dynamically selects the component carrier with the cooperation of the other cells to deal with the interference between Macro cell and Pico cell. The component carrier selection criterion is based on the combination of cell specific Harmonic Mean rate metric and carrier specific PF metric. As a result, the selection algorithm will reserve some portion of carriers on which the Macro nodes are partially deactivated allowing the users of Pico cell to be served with lower interference. Additionally, greedy binary carrier search algorithm is used to reduce the search complexity of the algorithm. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can achieve high cell-average and cell-edge throughput for the Pico cell in the Heterogeneous Networks.
