Integrated Technique for NOAA Satellites IR Data Processing System Applied to Seismologic Monitoring

In the course from the 8th five-year-plan to the 10th five-year plan, China Earthquake Administration has utilized sat data to make research on seismic IR monitoring. Furthermore, IR remote sensing is considered as one of the primary observation means of the seismic satellites launching project, which involves not only the designation of spatial system but also station transaction system of data receiving and processing. In consideration, since 2003, efforts were made to advance automatic data processing techniques such as polar orbiter data receiving, data storage, data processing, data analysis and automation of data processing. As a result, a testing transaction system has been set up. By means of constructing nationwide daylight imagery databases, nationwide surface brightness temperature databases nationwide ten-days cloudless surface brightness temperature databases, critical region temperature tracing database and 'imagery' info catalog databases, a data warehouse has been developed which contains historical data and is being updated automatically. The data processing techniques are that of basic processing, geo-info fusing, image processing, data synthesizing and data analysis which perform noise elimination, sun zenith affect correction, brightness temperature calibration and radiation correction, cloud detection and elimination, brightness temperature tracing and trend analysis. In addition to data processing, automation is of great significance to daily transaction of mass data. To implement unmanned auto processing, NT service model is used in a main frame, which manages and controls all the modules in the application. While running silently in background mode, the frame monitors data received from satellites by receiver, obtains data features, receiver's status and process information, and start proper subsystems or modules in multi-threaded mode when need, such as data processing subsystem, catalog and storage management subsystem, database updating module and data analysis - alert subsystem. The frame also controls an orbit auto update function and a time synchronization module.
