摘要

The synergetic use of a multi-sensor remote sensing concept, a comprehensive quantitative description of natural landscapes in geographical information systems form and a special type of regional ecological model is considered a relevant approach for the full accounting of terrestrial biota budgets of major greenhouse gases (FGGA). The first results of the SIBERIA-II project show that the above approach is supposedly sufficient for quantifying the FGGA for Northern Eurasia with details and reliability that would satisfy the requirements of the post Kyoto international negotiation process.
