This paper considers the arrangement method of the peach on the handling unit that is a part of a peach moth inspection system that our group is developing using X-Ray. The peach fruit moth does not live in Taiwan. And the larva of the moth enters the peach, eats the pulp near the seed and damages to the peach. Therefore, transportation of the peach that the larva of the moth enters is prohibited. The developed system tries to detect whether the larva enters the peach or not. The arrangement direction is important, since effectiveness of detection of the larva and stability of the peach on the unit are influenced. First, the influence of the seed on the projection of the peach is considered. Secondly, the difficulty of the rotation of the peach on the handling unit is addressed so as to evaluate the stability. As a result, it is clear that there is trade off. And, the peach moth inspection system is demonstrated in a field experiment. It is confirmed that the arrangement direction of the peach for detection has to take priority, even if the stability is lower.
