The shift hub is the core component of a dual-clutch transmission, and the machining quality of its profile determines the shift performance, so an evaluation of the profile is highly valuable. This paper presents an evaluation method of the profile based on the combination of cubic spline interpolation and discrete Fréchet distance algorithm. we extract the key points of the profile for linear interpolation and arc calculation from the design model and use the cubic spline interpolation processing to obtain the coordinate information of the theoretical profile. the dynamic programming mathematical model is established based on the collected data and theoretical data for calculating discrete Fréchet distance. It is no longer inevitable to have the same amount of theoretical data and measurement data, only the starting point, and the endpoint should be corresponding. Experiments show that the proposed method can obtain a good error evaluation conclusion of the groove profile, and it is also applicable to the evaluation of the parts with the same profile.
