In the propound work, a compact single layer Frequency Selective Surface has been designed that possess the characteristics of being polarization independent. This attribute of the structure gives same frequency response irrespective of the 0° polarization or 90° polarization of electromagnetic wave. In this paper, three designs have been proposed, the first two designs has affected from different polarization but in the last design we have achieved polarization independent FSS as of symmetrical behavior of the structure. The superstrate is incorporated of FR-4 substrate and a single sided PEC layer on it. In the third design, structure possesses quadruple pass band that is Wi-max (2.5 GHz) band, WLAN (5.5 GHz) band, and dual X-band (8.6 /10.9 GHz). CST Microwave Studio 2014 has been used to realize the frequency response via simulations.
