摘要

Cavity perturbation is a well-known technique for the measurement of relative permittivity of dielectric material at microwave frequency. This paper compare the value of dielectric constant calculated by cavity perturbation method with the HFSS (High frequency structure simulator) simulated results. It also includes the comparison of different dielectric constant materials for the same dimension samples. The complete HFSS simulation for different dielectric materials has been carried out and results are presented. This paper also overcome the assumption errors made in the theory of these techniques and provides estimates of the errors of measurement arising from them. Empirical formula has been implemented based on practical experiments to modify and correct the measured dielectric constant.
