In this paper, an ultra-wideband (UWB) double-sided printed bowtie antenna using supershape is proposed. The bowtie patch fed by the microstrip to stripline transition utilizes supershape formula involving modified form of Gielis curve to generate complex shapes readily, which improve surface current and impedance matching. The performance characteristics of the antenna including S parameter, realized gain and radiation pattern are simulated and compared with measured results. The -10 dB impedance bandwidth of the designed antenna is from 3 GHz to around 11 GHz with peak realized gain around 3 dB to 4 dB over most of the bandwidth.
